September is CMT awareness month and I utilized the pool a lot to help spread awareness on my disorder while I am sharing exercises and tips on how to stay strong with a neurological disorder! Having the pool at 92° is one of the best parts for me. It’s a perfect temperature for my body and I instantly feel relief when I get in that warm water! You can actually see me feet color change to a healthy, pink/white foot, instead of swollen, freezing cold feet and ankles that are discolored from poor circulation. My left foot is more severe than my right because of a botched surgery when I was 17 years old. I almost had to amputate my foot from all the damage that was done, It was a living nightmare for many years and 4 surgeries later a brilliant Dr. fixed my foot so I can at least stand on it again. Cadaver bone, screws, plates and pins is whats holding my foot and ankle together so the hydrostatic pressure of the warm water is an instant relief. I have no movement in my feet or ankles anymore but at least I still have my Left Foot!!!!
Every day that I get to go in my pool is a good day, I always feel better mentally and physically after getting out of the warm water. It’s been such a blessing for me to have this in my basement. Very convenient. When everybody is closing up their pools here on the east coast, I’m still getting in my pool and working out. The best part is that I can utilize it all year around for sure!!
